But let us go to him.\u2019<br \/>\n16 Then Thomas \u2013 known as the Twin \u2013 said to the other disciples,<br \/>\n\u2018Let us also go to die with him.\u2019<br \/>\n17 On arriving, Jesus found that Lazarus had been in the tomb for<br \/>\nfour days already. 18 Bethany is only about three kilometres from<br \/>\nJerusalem, 19 and many Jews had come to Martha and Mary to<br \/>\ncomfort them about their brother. 20 When Martha heard that<br \/>\nJesus was coming she went to meet him. Mary remained sitting in<br \/>\nthe house. 21 Martha said to Jesus, \u2018Lord, if you had been here, my<br \/>\nbrother would not have died, 22 but even now I know that God will<br \/>\ngrant whatever you ask of him.\u2019 23 Jesus said to her, \u2018Your brother<br \/>\nwill rise again.\u2019 24 Martha said to him, \u2018I know he will rise again at<br \/>\nthe resurrection on the last day.\u2019 25 Jesus said to her:<br \/>\n\u2018I am the resurrectionb and life.<br \/>\nAnyone who believes in me,<br \/>\neven though that person dies, will live,<br \/>\n26 and no one who lives and believes in me will ever die.<br \/>\nDo you believe this?\u2019<br \/>\n27 She said, \u2018Yes, Lord. I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of<br \/>\nGod, the one coming into this world.\u2019<br \/>\n28 When she had said this, she went and called her sister Mary,<br \/>\nsaying quietly, \u2018The Master is here and is calling you.\u2019 29 Hearing<br \/>\nthis, Mary got up quickly and went to him. 30 Jesus had not yet<br \/>\ncome into the village; he was still at the place where Martha had met<br \/>\nhim. 31 The Jews who were in the house comforting Mary, seeing<br \/>\nher get up quickly and go out, followed her, thinking that she was<br \/>\ngoing to the tomb to weep there. 32 When Mary came to where<br \/>\nJesus was, seeing him she fell at his feet, saying, \u2018Lord, if you had<br \/>\nbeen here, my brother would not have died.\u2019 33 When Jesus saw her<br \/>\nweeping, and the Jews who had come with her also, he was<br \/>\ndistressed in spirit, and profoundly moved.
