We have journeyed with the disciples from the depths of despair in The Passion to the joy and revelation of the Resurrection. We now witness Jesus' Ascension and the promise of the Holy Spirit to guide and accompany each one of us. Bishop David Walker reflects on the significance of Jesus' final act and what it meant for the disciples. Dr Laurie Woods has an excellent contribution about the significance of the Ascension today.
In this newsletter we remember the Feast Day of St Marcellin Champagnat on June 6th. Nathan Ahearne reflects on the way in which St Marcellin's spirit of action and compassion continues to impact on many Australian faith communities. Nathan explores how the Holy Spirit guides individual charisms to be lived out in new and contemporary ways. Helen Smith reflects on the way in which her faith and family life have been guided and nurtured by the Marist heart.
May these reflections nourish your spirit and encourage you to recognise the continuing presence of the Holy Spirit in daily life. As always, we encourage you to share this with your community.
David has spent a lifetime reflecting on the Gospels, studying Scripture, and exploring how they guide Christian discipleship. Now, he invites you to join him in a series of enriching discussion on the Gospels.
